Open enrollment begins October 15th. Since the enactment of the Affordable Care Act in 2016, it has only been possible to receive subsidies through the device known as the Exchange. There are two types: state-managed and the Federal exchange known as healthcare.gov. Below is a list of the state-managed exchanges. For those in bold face, American Health Advocates can assist in enrolling and obtaining the advance tax credits which may lower your premium. In all other states, we can use healthcare.gov to enroll you.
We'll make sure the doctors you want are available and the care is appropriate.
California* -- we'll help enroll you!
New Mexico -- we'll help enroll you!
Washington -- we'll help enroll you!

* California has made it easier for single users up to $74,000 to receive assistance by offering state subsidies in addition to Federal. However, as of January 1st, California has reinstated the enrollment penalty, making health insurance mandatory.
** In Oregon, for individual and family health plans, you will use healhcare.gov. You may only use Oregon's exchange to enroll for Medicaid and/or the Children's Health Insurance Plan (CHIP).
The other part of the Health Exchange is the provision for those with incomes at 138% or below the Federal Poverty Level (FPL). The FPL changes each year.
Not all states accepted the Medicaid expansion under the Affordable Care Act but in those that did, American Health Advocates will assist you with enrollment at no cost to you.
Contact the county in which you live for more information.
